Bobbie Annette Robinson, based in Boulder, Utah, is a multidisciplinary artist in fiber, film, video, new media, and bookmaking. She is also a tattoo artist and one-half of the audio visual collaboration Underwater Microphone.
Across these varied mediums, Robinson strives to elicit delight and curiosity. Her creativity is guided by her connection to colors, textures, dreams, and the captivating, psychedelic landscapes of the high desert where she lives.
In her practice, Robinson’s work uses a myriad of approaches to making. Whether through the tactile embrace of weaving, the visual immersion of film and video, or the intimate storytelling of book art, each creation is an attempt to convey a rich tapestry of emotions and narratives.
Beyond the studio, Bobbie’s life is a mosaic of connections. From organizing joyous celebrations to sharing quiet moments with her beloved animals — an aged donkey, a curly-haired dog, and two affectionate cats — she integrates her artistic spirit and attention into her everyday existence.
